What makes GlobeMed partnerships unique?
On-going communication Unlike past generations, students can stay connected throughout the year with communities they aim to serve. GlobeMed students talk via Skype, email or phone with their partner organizations at least once every two weeks. Year-round communication allows chapters and partners to build a relationship and create an ongoing process of mutual learning, action, and evaluation. Multi-year Change takes time, and real impact takes even longer. That’s why GlobeMed partnerships continue year after year, as long as the relationship is fostering mutual value. As the connection between chapters and partners deepens, impact expands and the partnership continues to strengthen. Clear commitment Each summer, chapter leaders and partners develop and sign a Partnership Action Framework (PAF), which formalizes their commitment to each other for the upcoming school year. Each PAF includes a communication schedule, project description, budget, and evaluation plan. Tangible impact GlobeMed chapters provide resources needed to bring the project to life, such as funds, academic research, media, and more. Through their partner organizations, every dollar, research insight, and new supporter mobilized translates toward providing a meaningful impact for individuals in the community of interest. Filling critical gaps Because we listen first, GlobeMed students often fill crucial funding and organizational gaps that traditional donors may not be willing to support. We don’t go in with our own agenda, but rather with open ears and minds. We work with our partners to identify what they most need from us in order to strengthen their capacity and deliver better health outcomes. |
